Brethren will remember that W.Bro Matthew Christmas attended our Centenary installation and gave the Address to the Master, as well as watching our six-way passing.

It is with sad news that we learn Matthew has decided to step down as Metropolitan Grand Secretary and Metropolitan Grand Scribe Ezra with effect from 22 June 2026, describing his service as Metropolitan Grand Secretary as “a privilege and honour” — which it certainly is. We wish him well as he embarks on a new chapter in his personal life, including a move following his fiancée’s new appointment in Worcester, and wish him and his family every happiness for the future. We do hope his attendance at the Lodge was not the straw that broke the camel’s back!
